HERITAGE SQUARE SPLASH PAD
Open for the 2024 Season.
Town of Wilkesboro opened the Heritage Square Splash Pad that is sponsored by Carolina West Wireless and located on the Wilkes Heritage Museum front lawn, known as Heritage Square. It is located across North Bridge from the Carolina West Wireless Community Commons and Wilkes Communications Pavilion (stage).
Heritage Square was designed to evoke the stately lawn of the historic courthouse while also offering gathering spaces for all ages. The Veterans Monument and Bricks honoring military service are prominently placed along with a historic canon. The splash pad features 29 jets, colorful lighting, and has tile work arranged in an “Ohio Star” quilt pattern to reflect the region’s artisan heritage.
To activate the splash pad, users simply step on a circular pad near the benches. The 5-minute operation cycle features a variety of jet heights and shapes. Jets along the outer edges of the play area were designed at levels appropriate for young children.
Additional information about splash pad policies and rules can be found here and at the kiosk adjacent to the splash pad. PortaJons are available in the Community Commons for splash pad visitors.
We hope you and your family enjoy the Splash Pad!!
