This page contains the information you need before, during, and after your rental of the Wilkesboro Civic Center. Please review it carefully. The person renting the facility is responsible for complying with the lease agreement, rental rules, and renter's checklist.
Rental Hours and Access

Rental hours are 7:30 a.m. until 12:00 midnight.

No early entry or late exit is permitted. Rental times are monitored by the Police Department, and failure to follow the approved rental hours may result in loss of the deposit.

If you need to decorate the day or evening before your event, you must rent the Civic Center for an additional day. No exceptions.
-
Music may be played until 10:00 pm Monday through Friday, until 11 :00 pm on Saturday, and 9:30 pm on Sunday evening.
Rental Fee and Deposit
- Rental Fee $300.00 per day
- Deposit $300.00 per rental day
- Deposit Due within 7 days of reservation
The deposit must be paid within 7 days of the Civic Center reservation or the renter's name will be removed from the rental calendar. Once name is removed from rental calendar, the date may be rented on a first-come, first-served basis.
The deposit is refundable if the facility is left in accordance with the lease agreement and renter checklist.

Cash, money order, check, credit card, or debit card are accepted through the listed payment methods.
Payments cannot be taken over the telephone or online.
Key Pickup and Return
PICKING UP THE KEY

The rental fee and deposit must be paid, the contract must be signed, and photo ID must be provided.

The renter must pick up the key at Wilkesboro Town Hall, 203 West Main Street, one to two days in advance. Town Hall hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
RETURNING THE KEY

Return the key within 24 hours after the rental. For weekend rentals, return the key by Monday morning.

The key may be returned:
to the Night Deposit Box at Wilkesboro Town Hall beside the drive-thru window; available 24/7
OR
inside Wilkesboro Town Hall at the payment counter or drive-thru window.
Facility Rules
-
Do not possess or bring alcoholic beverages onto the property under any circumstances.
-
Do not smoke inside the building. Smoking is only permitted outside. Cigarette butts must be placed in cigarette containers and must not be thrown on the ground.

Do not push up ceiling tiles to hang decorations.
-
Do not attach decorations to the ceiling or ceiling metal structure.
-
Do not allow children to jump on furniture.
-
Do not drag furniture across the floor.
-
Do not drink or eat on upholstered furniture.
-
Do not leave any decorations behind after the event.
-
Do not park on sidewalks.
Heating and Air Conditioning
-
Thermostats must be left set between 65 and 70 degrees.
-
Heating and air conditioning are controlled off-site. The renter will be provided telephone numbers for adjustment.
Equipment and Amenities

20 - 8' X 2.6' rectangular tables.

120 - metal frame padded vinyl seat chairs.
-
Upholstered sofas, chairs, and other furniture.
-
Kitchen equipment is not commercial grade. Kitchen has 1 sink, 1 dishwashers, 2 ovens, 2 stovetops, and 1 side-by-side refrigerator.

No silverware, dishes, pots, pans, trivets, towels, or pot holders are provided. Please bring anything you may need to use in the kitchen.

Two kitchen serving windows.

Speaker stand; no intercom and no speaker system.
-
Indoor flag stand sets with cords and tassels; U.S. and N.C. flags.

Free Wi-Fi.
-
No electronics: TV, projector, sound system are not provided.

Large trash cans are located behind the building. 3 large clear trash bags are provided to renter.

Handicap accessible facilities.
-
No ladders and no tools are provided.
Kitchen and Small Appliance Rules

No cooking appliance larger than a coffee maker or crockpot is allowed.
-
A maximum of 3 small appliances may be used without prior written approval from the Town.
-
Use of more than 3 small appliances or use of commercial/industrial-grade appliances, will result in forfeiture of the deposit.

End-of-Rental Cleaning Checklist

Wipe all food and debris from tables and chairs.
-
Put tables and chairs back into the storage room in the front entry area closet.
-
Do not drag tables and chairs across our polished floors, as it leaves marks on the floors.
-
Remove all decorations from the property. Nothing should have been attached to walls, doors, ceiling, ceiling tiles, or ceiling metal supports.
-
Remove all of your belongings. No re-entry after your rental time.
-
Remove all food products from stoves, ovens, refrigerator, microwave, and sinks.
-
Use cleaning supplies located in the closet near the men's restroom.
-
Clean all kitchen counters, stovetops, ovens, refrigerator, and microwave.
-
Sweep and mop floors and clean the stage area.
-
Return the podium to the stage area.
-
Check restrooms for running water/toilets; remove trash and wipe/clean counters.
-
Empty all trash cans and dispose of trash in the receptacles behind the building.
-
Make sure all lights, appliances, and water are turned off.
-
Leave thermostats set between 65 and 70 degrees.
-
Lock the doors, secure the property, and return the key to Town Hall within 24 hours.

Report any problems to Town management.
Deposit Refunds

After the rental, the deposit will be refunded by check after 15-30 days if the Civic Center is left in accordance with the lease terms and renter checklist, no damage is found, and no violations occurred.

The following may result in loss of the deposit:
Early entry or late exit; alcohol on the property; damage; failure to clean or follow the checklist; prohibited decorating; exceeding appliance limits; or other lease/rule violations.
