What is GIS?
It is a ready-to-use geographic information system for working with maps, geographic/spatial information and data online. The Towns of Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro along with the High County Council of Government compiled the information and maps within this ESRI system and can be accessed from each town's individual website. The user can launch each town's app to search, discover, locate and make decisions faster than ever with this geographic/spatial data.
Wilkesboro's GIS website.
Each GIS application provides layers on the Town of Wilkesboro's 911 addressing, roads, zoning, contour lines, Wilkes County parcels, flood hazard zones, boundaries: town limits, ETJ, and historic downtown districts, town parks and trails, Wilkes County Yadkin River Greenway and trailheads. Utilities: stormwater, sewer and water system are currently for North Wilkesboro only and can be accessed via their website.
