OVT Event at the Wilkes Heritage Museum

Description

Fourth graders will explore the OVT history of Wilkes County, NC, and the part it played in the Battle of Kings Mountain on the Overmountain Victory Trail that spans from Abington, Virginia through South Carolina to the site of the Battle of Kings Mountain now within Kings Mountain National Military Park.
The children will explore life during the Revolutionary times at the Wilkes Heritage Museum,  the 1779 Cleveland Log House, the old Wilkes County Jail, and other great exhibitions outside the museum at the Community Commons area.

Please slow down for the kiddos while driving through this area.

The Overmountain Victory Trail Association is committed to preserving the history of the Battle of Kings Mountain and of those Militia Men who fought. Our Mission is "To Preserve, Protect, and Interpret the Route to the Battle of Kings Mountain."
